============================================================================== Simba Jira ODBC Data Connector Release Notes ============================================================================== The release notes provide details of enhancements, features, known issues, and workflow changes in Simba Jira ODBC Connector 1.7.8, as well as the version history. 1.7.8 ======================================================================== Released 2024-07-22 Enhancements & New Features * [MPH-16260] Updated Ubuntu support The connector now supports Ubuntu 24.04 version. For a list of supported platform versions, see the Installation and Configuration Guide. * [MPH-16341] Updated FIPS support You can now enable FIPS support by downloading a separate FIPS package available for assistance. For more information, see the Installation and Configuration Guide. * Update on database schemas No new database schema are added, modified and decommissioned. Resolved Issues The following issue has been resolved in Simba Jira ODBC Connector 1.7.8. * [MPH-17100] The connector does not fetch all the records as the Jira server reduced the maximum number of results per request due to the large number of field requests. Known Issues The following are known issues that you may encounter due to limitations in the data source, the connector, or an application. * In some cases, if you query data while the EncryptSwapFile property is set to 1, the connector might return a corrupted result set. When this issue occurs, the returned result set is corrupted, but the original data in the data store is not affected. As a potential workaround, do either of the following: - Disable swap file creation by setting the MemoryManagerStrategy property to 1. However, be aware that while this setting prevents the connector from returning corrupted result sets, it may also cause some SQL operations on non-SQL data to return out-of-memory errors. - If your query does not involve sensitive data, set the EncryptSwapFile property to 0 before running the query. However, be aware that when swap file encryption is disabled, any data that the connector caches in order to support the query is written in plain text. For more information about the swap file and memory manager features, see the Installation and Configuration Guide. * The connector does not fetch more than 5000 records for Api_Groups_Picker table in a single query. Because the Api_Groups_Picker table does not support pagination, the connector has been designed to fetch no more than 5000 records for this table. This limit prevents the connector from displaying more than 5000 records even if more than 5000 records are available. * Connection cannot be established using SQLBrowseConnect for OAuth_1.0. However, Basic Authentication can be used to establish connection. * Workflow properties endpoints are nonfunctional. This is due to a limitation in JIRA. For more information, see https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-62042 and https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-62019 * Invalid login credentials may result in server lockout. The following error message may indicate that you are locked out of your account: API Connection Failed (Unauthorized Access). Check credentials. HTTP Response code: 403 By default, when you attempt to connect to JIRA three times using invalid login credentials, the server locks you out of your account. To unlock your account, log in to JIRA through a web browser and complete the security CAPTCHA. * On Windows, the connector cannot use the EncAccessToken setting if the Auth_AccessToken string value exists in the registry key for the DSN. If the Auth_AccessToken string value exists in the DSN registry key, the connector cannot authenticate the connection using the EncAccessToken setting. This issue occurs even if there is no value data specified in Auth_AccessToken. As a workaround, delete the Auth_AccessToken string value from your DSN registry key if you want to use the EncAccessToken setting for authentication. * Some updates may fail when double-buffering is enabled. As a workaround, disable the Enable Double Buffering option (set the EnableDoubleBuffer property to 0) when executing updates. * Reusing a prepared statement handle may cause a memory leak. If a prepared statement handle is used more than once, a memory leak may occur. Workflow Changes ============================================================= The following changes may disrupt established workflows for the connector. 1.7.8 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ * [MPH-16258] Removed support for earlier versions of platform Beginning with this release, the connector no longer supports the following versions of platform: - Windows Server 2012r2 - macOS 10.15 - CentOS 7 - Debian 9 and 10 - Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® (RHEL) 7 For a list of supported platform versions, see the Installation and Configuration Guide. 1.7.6 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ * Removed Visual Studio 2015 support Beginning with this release, the connector no longer supports Visual Studio 2015. For information about the supported Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio versions, see the Installation and Configuration Guide. * Removed support for Windows operating systems Beginning with this release, the connector no longer supports the following operating systems: - Windows 8.1 - Windows server 2008 R2 SP1 For a list of supported operating systems, see the Installation and Configuration Guide. 1.7.2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ * Updated UseProxy default value The default value for UseProxy is now Disabled (0). Previously, the default value was Enabled (1). For more information, see the Installation and Configuration Guide. 1.6.41 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- * Removed support for OS platforms Beginning with this release, the connector no longer supports the following OS platforms: - Windows 7 SP1 - Windows Server 2008 R2 For a list of supported OS versions, see the Installation and Configuration Guide. * Removed support for Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2013 Beginning with this release, the connector no longer supports this version of the dependency and requires Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 instead. For information about the supported Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio versions, see the Installation and Configuration Guide. 1.5.2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ * Minimum TLS Version Beginning with this release, the driver requires a minimum version of TLS for encrypting the data store connection. By default, the driver requires TLS version 1.2. This requirement may cause existing DSNs and connection strings to stop working, if they are used to connect to data stores that use a TLS version earlier than 1.2. To resolve this, in your DSN or connection string, set the Minimum TLS option (the Min_TLS property) to the appropriate version of TLS for your server. For more information, see the Installation and Configuration Guide.
